Compact .380 Auto pistols can be easy to carry and surprisingly particular about ammunition. A hollow-point description alone does not tell you whether a cartridge will feed from your magazine, chamber correctly or print where the sights indicate. This 20-round box gives the shooter a practical first quantity for evaluating a 90-grain Hornady XTP load in the actual pistol that may be carried.

Why this load exists

The first job is not accumulating ammunition. It is finding out whether the load and pistol belong together. Twenty rounds provide a starting point for checking magazine function, feeding, chambering, handling and point of impact without committing to a larger quantity before those questions are answered.

Hornady describes the XTP as a jacketed hollow-point design intended to balance expansion and penetration. That is the component maker’s design intent, not a promise that every short barrel, distance or impact condition will produce the same result.
