Description
Once your pistol approves the load, keep enough to work with it
The first box answers whether a .380 Auto load feeds, chambers and shoots as intended. The next question is whether you have enough of that same load to practice with it, confirm point of impact again and still maintain a useful reserve. This 50-round offering is the working quantity for shooters who have already chosen the 90-grain Hornady XTP construction or want enough ammunition for a more deliberate firearm-fit evaluation.
Gold Country loads the ammunition in new Starline brass in small batches. It is available to order and normally ships within seven business days.
Why this quantity exists
Compact .380 Auto pistols can be sensitive to cartridge geometry and magazine interaction. A few successful cycles do not answer every question. Fifty rounds give the owner room to check more than basic chambering: magazine function, repeated feeding, handling, point of impact and the pistol’s behavior across a useful shooting session.
Hornady describes the XTP as a jacketed hollow-point design intended to balance expansion and penetration. That is the component maker’s design intent, not a promise that every short barrel, distance or impact condition will produce the same result.

Choose the construction first, then the quantity
Choose the XTP when a conventional 90-grain hollow-point construction matches the role you are evaluating. Compare the 90-grain Sierra V-Crown load when you want a different hollow-point design rather than assuming every defensive bullet will behave the same in your pistol.
If this load is new to the firearm, the 20-round XTP box is the lower-commitment starting point. Choose this 50-round box when you want a working quantity for additional function checking, practice and reserve continuity.
Firearm fit matters in .380 Auto
Use only in firearms marked for .380 Auto and in sound condition. Some compact pistols and magazines can be sensitive to cartridge geometry, and some manufacturers recommend specific ammunition profiles. Confirm the firearm maker’s guidance, cartridge fit, reliable function and point of impact before relying on any load. Actual velocity, accuracy and terminal behavior vary with the firearm, barrel length, ammunition lot, distance and conditions.
