You do not need to identify every firearm, determine its value or understand the transfer process before contacting us. Tell us what you know, where the firearms are located and what you want to accomplish. “I do not know what is in the safe” is a useful starting point.
What we buy
- one firearm or several personally owned firearms;
- inherited firearms and estate firearms;
- complete or partial firearm collections;
- ammunition associated with the firearm or collection; and
- optics, cases, magazines, accessories, records and related material.
Exact identity, condition, legal status and marketability still matter. Older, modified, unfamiliar or potentially restricted firearms may require closer review. Keep boxes, paperwork, original parts, optics, magazines and collection records with the firearms when practical. Do not clean, refinish, repair or separate items merely to prepare them for an offer.
How the purchase process begins
- Tell us what you have. Use the seller intake, call or email. Provide the approximate quantity, location, ownership situation, timeframe and whatever identification or photographs you already have.
- We review the situation. We may ask for additional photographs or markings, discuss estate authority, or confirm which firearms and related material should be examined together.
- We confirm the next step. That may be an appointment at our Cameron Park location, an agreed review at the seller’s location when the collection and circumstances support it, or an approved shipping process.
- We inspect and discuss a purchase. After the firearms and related material can be examined, GCA can decide whether to make an outright purchase offer. You decide whether to accept it.
Submitting information does not create an appraisal, offer, appointment or purchase agreement. Do not ship firearms or bring them to the Cameron Park location until GCA confirms the arrangement.
California firearm sellers
California sellers often begin with more than a price question. The controlling issue may be estate authority, an inherited firearm, a move or property deadline, an unfamiliar collection, or uncertainty about which selling path applies. Jackson’s Gold Country Ammo is a federally licensed firearms dealer and works within its applicable California acquisition authority.

Selling from outside California
GCA buys firearms nationwide. Sellers outside California should begin with the intake, telephone or email so we can review the seller’s location, the firearms and the proposed transaction. Firearms may be shipped only through the approved process that applies to the specific transaction. Do not use general internet shipping instructions or send a firearm before GCA confirms the receiving instructions.

One firearm or a few firearms
A make, model, caliber or gauge, general condition, included box or accessories and known modifications usually provide a useful starting point. Clear overall photographs and visible markings can help when they can be taken safely.
Inherited firearms or an estate
Begin with who owned the firearms, who is authorized to act, where the firearms are now and whether the family expects to keep, transfer or sell all or some of them. What affects a purchase offer
A dealer purchase offer is different from a retail asking price, auction result, consignment proceeds or formal appraisal. The review may depend on exact identity and configuration, condition, originality or modifications, included boxes and records, transferability, current demand, and the work and market risk involved in resale.
