Bullet weight alone does not decide the job. Construction matters. The Hornady SST uses a polymer-tipped spitzer profile and gives the .243 hunter a different choice from Gold Country’s lighter Coyote and Viper loads or the conventional 95-grain Gold Country soft point.

Choose the 70- or 75-grain Coyote hollow-point loads when the problem is lighter predator and varmint work. Choose the 80- or 90-grain Viper soft-point loads when you want a middle-weight soft-point option.
