Choose the ULD Viper when the base geometry is part of the goal

A 130-grain 7mm project may aim for lighter recoil, useful velocity or a flatter trajectory, but the buyer still needs a specific bullet to develop around. The distinction here is physical: this is the Viper soft point with a rebated boat tail.

This Viper combines an exposed lead-tip soft point, ultra-low-drag spitzer form and rebated boat tail. Viper is Gold Country’s lead-tip soft-point family. ULD means Ultra Low Drag. The rebated boat tail separates this bullet from the 130-grain Viper LD flat base.

This listing contains 50 bullets. Cases, primers, powder and loaded ammunition are not included. We hand swage these bullets in small batches. They are made to order and normally ship within seven business days.

What this bullet helps you accomplish

It gives you a precisely identified starting point for developing a lighter 130-grain .284 hunting load around Viper soft-point construction and ULD rebated-boat-tail geometry. You can establish seating, fit and safe loading parameters around the actual bullet, then test whether the complete system meets the accuracy, trajectory and field requirements behind the project.

Why this page exists beside the other 130-grain choices

Choose this Viper ULD when the project calls for an exposed lead-tip soft point and rebated boat tail. Choose the Viper LD when the same family identity with a flat base is the better starting point. Choose the Scorpion LD when the assignment calls for Gold Country’s hollow/open-tip construction.

Confirm fit and prove the load

This pointed bullet is not intended for conventional tubular magazines in which a bullet tip rests against the primer ahead of it. Soft-point, ULD and base-form terms identify construction and design intent. They do not establish a universal ballistic coefficient or guarantee accuracy, stability or terminal results. Confirm bullet length, seating depth, cartridge overall length, chamber and magazine fit, and barrel-twist suitability. Begin with current published jacketed-bullet data for the exact cartridge and weight, work carefully, and test the finished load in the actual rifle.

Reloading safety: Verify every recipe against the cited published source and its current edition. Begin only with the source’s stated starting load and confirm the exact cartridge, bullet, powder, primer, case, overall length, firearm, and pressure limits. A similar bullet weight or diameter does not establish interchangeability.
