Why this bullet was selected

The Hornady InterLock is a conventional jacketed lead-core hunting bullet. Its exposed-lead flat point and cannelure make it a natural fit for the cartridge’s traditional lever-rifle role. Hornady’s InterLock design uses an internal ring intended to help retain the core and jacket together during expansion.

The .32 Winchester Special is strongly associated with tubular-magazine lever rifles. A broad flat point keeps the nose geometry visible and intentional for that platform. It also preserves the traditional 170-grain reference point familiar to generations of .32 Special shooters.
