Description
Built for Distance — Where Traditional Bullets Fall Short
The 7mm Remington Magnum is known for velocity—but at extended distances, velocity loss becomes the limiting factor. Many traditional hunting bullets are not designed to maintain performance as distance increases.
The 150-grain Gold Country Viper is built to address that gap.
Ultra-Low Drag Design for Retained Velocity
The Viper bullet features a streamlined profile and boat tail design to reduce drag and maintain velocity downrange.
- Ultra-low drag (ULD) profile for improved flight efficiency
- Boat tail base for reduced air resistance
- Maintains energy at extended distances
- Improved trajectory consistency
This allows the bullet to remain effective where others begin to fall off. The Ammunition Systems framework explains how construction drives performance, while TN-7MM-04: Controlled Expansion vs Fragmentation in 7mm Hunting Bullets and the 7mm Rifle & Bullet Compendium show exactly how expansion, penetration, and structural integrity translate into real-world results.
Expansion at Distance — Where It Matters
At longer ranges, many bullets fail to expand due to reduced impact velocity. The Viper soft point design is intended to initiate expansion even as velocity decreases.
- Soft point construction supports expansion at lower velocities
- Balanced between aerodynamic efficiency and terminal performance
- Designed for real-world hunting distances beyond typical ranges
Where This Load Performs Best
This load is ideal for scenarios where distance becomes a factor:
- Medium game hunting at extended ranges
- Open terrain where shot distance varies
- Shooters seeking flatter trajectory and retained energy
It is not designed for close-range impact (At What Velocity Do 7mm Bullets Actually Expand?) where higher velocities may overstress lighter, streamlined bullets.
Real-World Build
This ammunition is assembled using reconditioned brass with mixed headstamps and matched to Gold Country Viper bullets. Each load is built for function and performance rather than appearance.
- Reconditioned brass
- Assorted headstamps
- Approximate velocity: 2801 FPS (based on load data)
This is working ammunition—built for shooters who care about results in the field. Why Bullet Design Matters More Than Cartridge Power in the 7mm Rem Mag

***IMPORTANT NOTE…
Minimum OAL (overall length) is 3.29. Make sure this round will fit your magazine and gun before you buy it. SAAMI maximum OAL is 3.29.
If you are not sure, you should check your owners manual, call the manufacturer or gunsmith if it was custom built or take it to your local gun shop and have them measure and tell you the longest cartridge length that will work in your firearm. For handguns and semi-auto rifles you need to check the magazine specifications as well.
We do not ship loaded ammunition to California, New York City, Massachusetts, Alaska Chicago, or Hawaii. FPID and FOID required for New Jersey, Connecticut and Illinois residents.
New York residents must have ammunition shipped to a licensed FFL, Gun Store or ammunition dealer for transfer. We’ll need a copies of licenses before shipping. Have your gun shop or ammunition dealer contact us. We do not ship directly to NY customers.
Orders placed by people in restricted areas will be cancelled.
