Description
Some rifles begin as tools.
A rare few evolve into icons.
The Marlin 1894 Mad Pig Custom SBL is something else entirely — a modern heirloom born from craftsmanship, engineering obsession, and a deep respect for what a lever-action rifle can become when every detail is elevated.
Built on the legendary Marlin 1894 architecture and transformed by Mad Pig Customs, this .44 Magnum SBL is tuned, tightened, refined, and re-imagined for shooters who demand a rifle that is fast, balanced, and unflinchingly reliable in any environment.
The first thing you notice is the look — a Champagne / Black / Gray Cerakote palette that feels like custom shop artistry and serious field purpose blended into one. The finish isn’t cosmetic; it’s a barrier against the real world — weather, sweat, dust, rain, and salt air.
Up front, the 16.1″ cold hammer-forged stainless barrel has been threaded and capped with an Angled Spade Scepter muzzle brake (11/16×24), giving the rifle a steady, confident recoil impulse and the fastest sight recovery you’ve felt on a pistol-caliber lever gun.
The Mad Pig extended handguard transforms handling. Light in the front, balanced in the middle, and offering QD and M-LOK placement exactly where a fast-moving shooter wants it. Paired with the Midwest Industries pistol grip stock, this rifle shoulders instantly and tracks naturally.
Sights? Serious.
Fiber optic with a Tritium ring up front.
Adjustable ghost ring in the rear.
This is a sight picture built for dusk timber, dense brush, and unpredictable light — exactly where a modern lever shines.
Inside, the upgrades continue:
A Timney trigger/hammer/spring kit, a Nickel Teflon follower, a Mad Pig enhanced lever, and the enhanced takedown screw all combine to make cycling this rifle feel like a custom mechanical instrument. You don’t run this rifle — you sweep it, glide it, and it rewards you with speed you didn’t think a lever gun could deliver.
To finish it off, the package includes the Flatline Fiber Wolf Gray padded sling, Mad Pig bench mat, hard case, stickers, patches, and a full tool kit — because a rifle at this level deserves gear that’s built with the same intent.
This is not a display piece.
This is the lever gun renaissance — distilled into one rifle.
