The Viper combines a copper jacket, lead core and exposed soft point in a heavier 70-grain .224 component. It is the expansion-forward construction choice beside the similarly weighted 69-grain Scorpion hollow point. Soft-point construction does not guarantee expansion, a particular exit size, pelt damage, accuracy or a field result; velocity, impact placement, animal size, target medium, twist rate and the complete load all matter.
