The common 240-grain .429 bullet may be lighter than the job calls for, while a 300-grain bullet can be more weight than the intended load or firearm needs. The traditional 265-grain class provides a useful middle answer, especially for lever-rifle and .444 Marlin handloaders searching for a jacketed flat nose.

The 265-grain Gold Country Rhino occupies that middle-heavy position. Its exposed-lead wide flat nose and reinforced jacket distinguish it from conventional handgun hollow points and from the heavier 300-grain Rhino.
