This bullet begins with the same traditional heavy .30-30 assignment as our standard 170-grain Rhino: a .308-inch flat-nose bullet for compatible tubular-magazine lever-rifle handloads. We then apply the Razorback treatment—a copper jacket serrated at the nose—to encourage expansion to begin sooner under resistance.

We supply 50 bullets. We hand swage them in small batches, make them to order and normally ship within seven business days.

Standard Rhino or serrated-jacket Rhino?

Choose the standard 170-grain Rhino when you want our traditional hard-hitting flat-nose path built around controlled penetration. Choose this serrated-jacket version when you want the same heavy 170-grain lever-rifle and woods-hunting role with jacket stress points intended to begin opening sooner.

The serrations change how the jacket is intended to respond; they do not guarantee a particular expansion diameter, penetration depth or field result. Impact velocity, the complete load, the firearm and what the bullet encounters still control the result.

The primary home for this bullet is a compatible .30-30 Winchester lever-action rifle with a tubular magazine. Its flat nose addresses the magazine problem, its cannelure supports the cartridge-building task, and its 170-grain weight retains the heavier traditional .30-30 role.

It is suited to woods and brush-country hunting where sight lines are often short. That describes the terrain and likely shooting distance; it does not mean any bullet can reliably pass through intervening vegetation without deflection.
