Description
Retain the traditional 170-grain weight while changing construction
The .30-30 handloader first needs suitable geometry for a tubular-magazine lever rifle. Within the traditional 170-grain class, the next question is whether the project calls for the Rhino flat nose or the Razorback’s serrated flat-nose construction.
This listing is for 50 component bullets. Cases, primers, powder and load data are not included. These bullets are hand swaged in small batches, made to order and normally ship within seven business days.
Why choose the 170-grain Razorback
The Razorback combines a serrated flat nose, copper jacket, lead core and cannelure in a profile intended for compatible tubular-magazine applications. It is the serrated-construction choice beside the same-weight Rhino. That design intent does not guarantee feeding, accuracy, deformation, penetration or a field result; the complete cartridge, firearm, velocity and impact conditions determine performance.

Choose weight and construction deliberately
Compare the 170-grain Rhino when its conventional reinforced flat nose better fits the project. Move to the 150-grain Razorback when the lighter weight is preferred while retaining the serrated flat-nose construction.
Build around the rifle and published data
Use current published jacketed-bullet data for .30-30 Winchester and the exact bullet weight. Confirm diameter, seating depth, cartridge overall length, crimp, chamber fit, magazine compatibility, feeding and point of impact in the rifle that will be used.
