The shot you planned is broadside. The shot you get may meet shoulder, heavier tissue, or an angle that asks more of the bullet before it reaches the vitals. A fast-opening bullet can spend its energy early. The 150-grain .308 Razorback is built around a different priority: hold together through initial resistance, carry penetration, then deform progressively as resistance increases.

That sequence is the reason for its serrated jacket and lead-supported nose. The serrations give deformation a place to begin while the jacket continues to support the core. This is a hunting design for the handloader who puts continued penetration ahead of immediate, dramatic opening—not a promise that every shot or load will produce the same result.

Which bullet belongs in your hunting load?

Choose the Razorback when your main concern is a bullet opening too soon and losing the penetration you wanted. If you want a soft lead tip intended to start upset earlier, compare the Viper system.
