Velocity is not trivia.
It is the foundation of everything that follows.

The Caldwell Ballistic Precision Chronograph G2 exists to answer a single, critical question with repeatable accuracy: what is the projectile actually doing when it leaves the muzzle? Without that answer, ballistic tables, dope cards, and solver outputs are only approximations.

The G2 departs from traditional sky-screen chronograph layouts by inverting the sensor system, placing its optical sensors below the projectile path rather than above it. This configuration reduces false readings caused by inconsistent overhead lighting and allows the unit to function reliably indoors, in shade, or under mixed light—conditions that frequently invalidate conventional chronographs.

Its 18-inch sensor spacing increases timing resolution, while a 48 MHz processor and factory computer calibration push velocity measurement accuracy to within ±0.25%. Built-in LED illumination supplements ambient light when needed, maintaining consistency across environments without user improvisation.

Paired Bluetooth connectivity allows velocity strings, notes, and environmental context to be logged and exported through the companion app, making the G2 a practical bridge between raw measurement and applied ballistic analysis. Whether validating factory ammunition, confirming handloads, or establishing real muzzle velocity for solver input, the chronograph becomes a truth anchor for every downstream decision.

This is not a range toy.
It is a verification instrument—and verification is where precision begins.

Technical Scope

The Ballistic Precision Chronograph G2 functions as a primary measurement tool for velocity validation across rifle, pistol, and archery platforms. Its role is upstream of ballistic solvers, optic dialing, and trajectory modeling—providing verified inputs rather than assumed values.
