Start the 175-grain hunting project with the intended construction

A heavy .277 hunting-load project starts with more than grain weight. The buyer needs to know which nose and base geometry will anchor the work before spending powder, primers and range time. This page identifies that bullet clearly.

This Razorback combines a long-range low-drag serrated tip with a flat base. The serrated-tip construction is the defining reason to choose it within the 175-grain group. Its flat base further separates it from the ULD rebated-boat-tail choices in the Scorpion and Viper families.

This listing contains 50 bullets. Cases, primers, powder and loaded ammunition are not included. We hand swage these bullets in small batches. They are made to order and normally ship within seven business days.

What this bullet helps you accomplish

It lets you develop a heavy-for-caliber .277 hunting load around a specific Razorback construction instead of treating every 175-grain bullet as interchangeable. You can establish seating, fit and safe loading parameters around the serrated-tip, flat-base bullet and then test the complete rifle-and-load system against your field requirements.

Why this page exists beside the other 175-grain choices

Choose Razorback when the serrated-tip design is the point of the project. Choose Scorpion when you want Gold Country’s hollow/open-tip construction, or Viper when you want an exposed lead-tip soft point. The names identify physical differences that matter before load development begins.

Validate the hunting system

The serrated-tip and LD terms describe construction and design intent. They do not guarantee accuracy, expansion, penetration, retained weight or a particular terminal result in every cartridge, rifle or impact condition. Confirm bullet length, seating depth, cartridge overall length, chamber and magazine fit, and barrel-twist suitability. Begin with current published jacketed-bullet data for the exact cartridge and weight, work carefully, and test the finished load for the conditions in which it will be used.

Reloading safety: Verify every recipe against the cited published source and its current edition. Begin only with the source’s stated starting load and confirm the exact cartridge, bullet, powder, primer, case, overall length, firearm, and pressure limits. A similar bullet weight or diameter does not establish interchangeability.
