Some rifles are built for distance.
This one is built for presence — the kind of presence that settles the woods when you step into them.

The Marlin 1894 Guide Gun in .44 Magnum carries a different kind of authority. Short enough to maneuver through thick timber, long enough to wring out the full thrust of a magnum load, and balanced so cleanly you can shoulder it one-handed without thinking. The longer 20.25″ cold hammer-forged barrel gives the .44 Magnum room to breathe—boosting velocity, tightening groups, and making the rifle feel calmer and more deliberate in recoil.

The black laminate stock is the Guide Gun’s signature: weatherproof, steady, elegant in a way that speaks to rugged country, not glass cases. Checkering is cut sharply, giving you control even when dew or sleet makes everything else slippery. And paired with the soft rubber buttpad, the rifle feels like it wants to stay with you all day.

Up front, a hooded brass-bead sight commands your focus, even in the mottled shadows of late-season forests. The semi-buckhorn rear helps you track movement and stay centered when a shot window opens for only a heartbeat.

Whether it’s a ranch rifle, a cabin rifle, a deep timber backup rifle, or simply a magnum lever-gun you’ve always wanted to own — the 1894 Guide Gun in .44 Magnum is one of those pieces you don’t forget owning. And once you take it into the field, it’s hard to imagine going back to anything else.

Technical Scope

This Marlin 1894 Guide Gun configuration is optimized for short-to-mid-range .44 Magnum use where rapid sight acquisition, controlled recoil impulse, and predictable bullet stability matter more than extended-range trajectory. The 20.25″ barrel and 1:20 twist are tuned for common .44 Magnum bullet lengths and rifle-level velocities, producing stable accuracy, manageable recoil, and reliable field behavior with factory ammunition and traditional iron sights.
