170-Grain Hornady Soft-Point .350 Legend Hunting Ammunition

This Gold Country Ammo load occupies the conventional heavier hunting lane in .350 Legend. It combines new Starline brass with a 170-grain Hornady jacketed soft-point bullet for shooters who prefer an exposed-lead hunting profile over a lighter hollow-point design.

Load profile

Cartridge: .350 Legend
Bullet: 170-grain Hornady jacketed soft point
Brass: New Starline
Package: 20 rounds
Published-data velocity: Approximately 2,001 fps

The velocity above is based on published jacketed-bullet load data, not a Gold Country chronograph result. Actual velocity varies with the firearm, barrel length, chamber and ammunition lot.

What distinguishes the 170-grain load

The useful difference is not merely 23 additional grains. This load uses a conventional soft-point hunting-bullet profile and sits in the broad middle-to-heavy .350 Legend lane. It is the more direct choice when the buyer wants a traditional exposed-lead soft point rather than the 147-grain XTP construction.

The 150-, 160–170- and 180-grain classes all have established places in the .350 Legend market. The correct choice depends on bullet construction, expected distance, game and the firearm—not on a claim that one weight is universally best.

Availability: This is an established Gold Country load that can be produced when the corresponding Hornady bullets are available. The current stock status on this page controls whether it can be ordered.
