Why the bullet design matters

Hornady describes ELD-X as a match-accurate hunting bullet that combines a Heat Shield tip, streamlined secant ogive, boattail design and concentric AMP jacket. The manufacturer publishes the design for controlled expansion across practical hunting distances. Those are design and test claims from Hornady—not a promise that every shot, rifle or field condition will produce the same result.

Actual terminal performance depends on impact velocity, distance, shot placement, the animal encountered and intervening material. Confirm point of impact and function in the rifle that will be used.
